2010 CALL FOR PAPERS DUE: 3/15/2010 for the Journal of American Association of Grant Professionals The Journal of the American Association of Grant Professionals cordially invites you to submit a paper for inclusion in its fall 2010 issue. This is an annual publication, so this will be your only chance to publish in the Journal this year.
This issue will consist of papers on general topics related to the improvement of the grant development professional. Research papers are peer-reviewed by top professionals from around the country.
For paper topic ideas see the Table of Competencies and Skills on the Grant Professional Certificate Institute webpage. Here is the link: http://grantcredential.org/the-examination/competencies-and-skills-tested.aspx — a paper on any of the competencies and skills would be welcome. Also, consider implementing a research project, which might clarify or demonstrate some aspect of grant development.
The Journal of the AAGP accepts manuscript proposals and manuscripts on a rolling basis. The timeline* for submissions is: • March 15: Submit a manuscript proposal (100-300 words). • April 1: Journal editors will issue invitations to develop a full manuscript. • May 15: Completed manuscripts are due. (Submitting a full manuscript instead of a manuscript proposal does not guarantee the article will be peer reviewed or published.) • May 24: Peer review process begins • June 15: Journal Editors’ review begins • June 30: Manuscripts return to authors with recommendations for editing/rewriting. • August 15: Final edits required for publication are due.
*All submissions are due by midnight of the identified deadline.
Expectations for all submissions include: • Presentation and submission in Word format • Author(s)’s information (name, title, organization, e-mail address) and title of the proposed paper. • At least three references to other sources supporting assertions the author makes in the paper. • Compliance with APA guidelines, which include recommendations for proper grammar, syntax, and formatting style in professional and research papers. Common issues that have required correction in previous Journal article submissions included: o The use of contractions (not acceptable) o The use of personal pronouns (not acceptable) o Improper formatting of references
