Meeting Minutes September 25, 2007 I.  Old Business
  1. The minutes from The August meeting were unanimously passed.

II. New Business

  1. Our CFO Dana updated us on the status of our bank account.  As of July 30th, we had $497.30!  It was noted that since that date, two members had paid dues which pushes us over the $500 mark!
  2. Danny gave us an update of the Grants scam:  they are apparently government backed grants.  Several people spoke to how they knew people who had either fallen for this guise or else they were thinking about it.
    1. Sylvia suggested that we put a general disclaimer on the webpage about the latest hoaxes and scams
  3. MAAGP Member of the Month
    1. Congratulations Nell Patterson!  After coming to only one meeting, the next meeting she showed up, her dues having been paid and brought a friend!  We appreciate your support of the organization!
  4. Welcome new member:  Eden Freeman!
  5. The Conference and the Certification Test were briefly discussed; October 1 is final deadline.  There are at least 6 people going from MAAGP.
  6. Logo Issue:  Sylvia is going to take a stab at it!
  7. Programming:  Amanda asked a few of our diverse members to shed light on what a day in their life is actually like
    1. Tanika Jackson spoke about working in a governmental capacity
    2. Joann Lawrence spoke about working in the Arts sector
